Fiddling on Youtube

One of my all-time favorite cinema moments. Nothing can underline the harrowing loss in tragedy more than humor and a celebration of life - think Chaplin's tramp - and Fiddler on the Roof is one of those rare achievements.

I have always thought Fiddle on the Roof would translate so perfectly to our own story of Partition. I imagine Tevye as a big Sardaar!

Ah! I love this movie too! I had listened to its music almost ALL my life and then only recently had I gotten hold of the CD. Superb music, great acting, thoroughly entertaining yet at times so heart wrenching...

And this has the classic "Matchmaker matchmaker, make me a match! Find me a find, catch me a catch!"

I saw this movie aeons ago, and remarkably I remember thinking how it ends on such a perfectly real note. Not like one of those Hollywoody stories..

:)

I saw this play when I was 12. My sister played the match maker.

It was my first English play and I sat through it with a hole in my mouth big enough to fit a football.
