Writing from
scratch can be like thrusting a fist inside your yawning mouth, fingers probing
painfully and trying to find that one deep throbbing true spot in the jumble of
guts. There is always that temptation to cheat, to settle on a false bottom and
to build its legitimacy on a palace of words; which is where I am still stuck
now. Hope I have to courage to go more distant than that.
