Blogs demysified

I looked at some blogs and here are my findings:

  1. Most people are stupid and don't have anything worthwhile to add in terms of ideas
  2. Peopel trying to manage a multiple audience at the same time are the worst offenders:appeasing and full of feel-good ReadersDigest-Archies-Chickensoup simplistic mediocrity
  3. The good bloggers don't care to get back at your comments: having something meaningful to say is the motivation, not recognition/attention
  4. Avoid blogs with the following words in the title - Random, Dreams, Lovely/Beautiful (if coupled with dreams - kindly switch off the computer for a peiod of 17 days to prevent any lethal contamination), the name of any flower, list to continue...
  5. Discount any comment made by Indian male in a blog with a female profile with photograph attesting to at least average looks
  6. Escapism rules in the Indian landscape

i like exaggerating the pathos for dramatic effect...
but @moimystique, i think more people are writing for the audience (when they have one) than themselves

long live the "true artists create for their own sake"...........myth.

the desire for recognition is very HUMAN desire. it plays to an extent for everyone.

and guess what BS..you replied to a comment...you're it!!!

blogs are meant to be an outlet for the ordinary and the mediocre who doesn't have access(in terms of money, talent, influence or fame ) to get their writings in print and fancy bookshops. But i personally think one has the choice to become part of the online mutual admiration club in order to boost audiences or write irrespective of the traffic generated. coz most bloggers ( as you said the mindless masses) are not so discerning and look for a quid pro quo relationship.
But I don't agree with of your view point of escapism or female following coz that is just the reflection of real life behavior , ain't it?

dude, wtf...aren't we being a tad sniping here...dude, who gave you the right to pronounce judgement on all blogs in the ether...how many blogs with the word 'random' or 'dreams', or how many comments from indian males, have you really read, to generalize? And how much blogging cred do YOU have, to comment on others blogs...
I guess the worst kind of blogger (and by extension, human) is the armchair critic, who tries to generalize and stereotype based on very limited knowledge or exploration...now do we know someone like that...
suck it up, dude..and start blogging abt something real, for a change...

sorry if i came over too strong in the previous post, man...but u know me, always the iconoclast, i hate pronouncements of any kind...i wud just as soon kill the guy who extols desi blogs...
BTW, see these blog collections below, to get a real feel for desi blogs...i dont go to them, they are so good that i lose all my motivation to write once i read them, 'coz i fear i will never be as good as them...
